I think that when you look to at ho...Hi Yankeeboy.

I think that when you look to at how much studio time costs, mixing costs etc, taking out the time to write, rehearse, craft the songs, the price is quite reasonable. I put up many bands that give their music away for free, those bands may have the expendable income to do this for the exposure, but there are many that are not able to swallow that cost and have to charge to ensure that they are not paying to entertain us which really isn't the way it should be.
Even as a blogger promoting bands I sometimes have to buy the albums, singles etc to blog them and however things turn out, I never make that money back, I do it because I love music, it is my entertainment and my passion, and to be honest, their is enough free music out there to balance things out financially, but as I mentioned earlier, not all bands are in a position to do that.
If you go back in time and look at music in its basic form, for example, the wandering troubadour, he would travel village to village town to town and play for his food, if he played for free he would have starved to death, if he paid more to travel than he made to eat, he would have died eventually and we would have no entertainment.
Of course it is your choice as to your decision to buy the record or not, but if you look at the fact that this particular band give their demo single of 4 tracks away for free, which is a good quality demo, you are actually only paying 65 cents (US) for each song and that is quite reasonable in my opinion.
I completely respect your opinion as I hope you will mine.
I hope you shall continue to read my blog, I try to maintain a good blend of music for my readers and I also endeavor to support the bands as much as I can.
Ice Cream Manhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14288582040761398538noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6121906128280743890.post-58252642993362194952012-09-13T19:41:06.129+02:002012-09-13T19:41:06.129+02:00I know I've commented about this before but I ...I know I've commented about this before but I think it bears repeating. I like the songs by the band but, as an relatively unknown band trying to build up a fanbase, I have to wonder why they are charging 1 euro (or $1.29) per song. More than Itunes or Amazon. It kind of strikes me as a bit arrogant. Needless to say, I think I'll pass. YankeeBoyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14077959975128794185noreply@blogger.com
