A few months ago, I found some old flyers of gigs I attended in a box in the basement. It was interesting to see how the flyers had been made up approximately 23 years ago with a letter set, a picture and a photocopier, not as easy as it is today with home computers and printers, hey, kids even stood on the street and handed them out to you, hasn't the internet made things easier!
Some of these flyers, along with other memorabilia will be used in a C86 display (see my previous post) night by How Does It Feel To Be Loved at The Canterbury Arms in Brixton, London Friday 7th of October .
The Chesterfields - Electric guitars in their hearts.
As the first C86 special in May was so much fun, we've decided to do it all over again. As before, we'll be playing songs from the C86-era, which we've stretched a little to include 1981, so we can play Orange Juice. There'll be nothing played from after 1989, and no soul or sixties music at all, just jangly indiepop, and lots of it! This time we'll also be hosting a C86 exhibition, featuring C86 era gig posters and flyers. Guest DJ is Matthew Rimell of Bristol's Big Pink Cake club night.

The most fantastic "Elephant Stone" are embarking on a small tour of the UK shortly.
The band is fronted by the talented Rhish Dhir, whom I met in London when he was playing with his former band, The High Dials, he greeted me with a great big hug and a, "Thank you for coming!" A warmth that the likes of The Rolling Stones have yet to extend to me!
I would love to be able to get over to the UK for some of these dates and who knows, maybe I will? If you are in the area of any of these venues, make the effort to get out from in front of the TV and see one of finest bands that Canada has to offer.
Please see the Retroman blog link below for dates and venues and a free download of their latest single.
When I first heard the Len Price 3, I loved them, the songwriting, the music, the energy, I knew they would become a long time passion for me and now with their 3rd album behind them, I haven't been dissapointed in a single track. This kind of energy in music hasn't been seen since the days of The Jam and The Clash, in fact I think they are so good that I am flying from Sweden to the UK to see them.....again!
